Goulash

Southern Goulash as made by Ruthie Peacock. This is no were similar to traditional Goulash.

  1. Bring a medium pot of salted water to boil. Boil Macaroni noodles according to package directions. Drain and set to the side

  2. While macaroni cooks, Medium dice Bell Peper and onion. If using garlic cloves, small dice these as well

  3. Heat a dutch oven or large pot to medium high. Once hot, add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until brown. Remove from the cooking vessel, leaving any fond or fat. Add more fat of your choice if the pan seems dry.

  4. Add onion, bell peper, garlic or garlic powder. Season with salt and peper. Sweat the vegetables for 5 - 7 minutes. Return beef to the pan.

  5. To the pan of beef and vetetables, add tomatoss, vingar, hot sauce, and ketcup. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 20 minutes stirring occasionally

  6. Add macaroni noodles and stir to combine.
